Still Going: A zine on using old technology

The HyperCard zine running in an emulator.

I recently wrote a short e-zine about my personal experience and feelings with using old hardware and software today. I figured that it would be perfect to write that in HyperCard which is a piece of software that was discontinued back in 1998.

To run it, you would need to emulate an old Macintosh with HyperCard installed. There are some instructions below to help you get set up if you’ve never used HyperCard before.

If you end up liking it, I’d appreciate a tip!

How to read:

Option 1: Navigate to hypercardadventures.com then click on the “From file …” button to insert the file that you downloaded above. A disk will appear in the emulator. Open the disk and run the file inside it. Navigate using left and right arrows on your keyboard.

Option 2: Follow the “Running HyperCard in Mini vMac” section in cancel.fm/hyperjam to set up the emulator. Drag and drop the file that you downloaded above into Mini vMac’s window. A disk will appear in the emulator. Open the disk and run the file. Navigate using left and right arrows on your keyboard.
